Imagination Head of IT speaks at Paris Google Atmosphere

Matt Ballantine, Imagination’s head of IT, presented a workshop at the exclusive Google Atmosphere event in Paris.
The two-day event brought together 300 of Europe’s leading CIOs, leaders of internet innovation, customers, academics and authors, including Vint Cerf one of ‘the fathers of the internet’.
After succesfully moving Imagination’s 600+ staff email, calendar and other user accounts to Google Apps - across 14 locations in nine countries and seven time zones - Google invited Ballantine to present a workshop on Building the Business Case for cloud computing.
“Developing a basic cost-based business case for a cloud solution is simple and straightforward,” he said.
“However, there is a problem with projects that are driven on the basis of cost-saving alone – cost saving should be a by-product of achieving your business objectives.”
Ballantine also spoke in June at Google’s London CIO summit.
